Who am I?
Hi, I am Annie Yuen, I am a commercial photographer based in Hong Kong, specializing in creating colorful and energetic imagery.
What got me into commercial photography?
I guess it all started being in the marketing field for over 13 years. I started my career in advertising agency doing traditional marketing. I worked with a lot of creative directors and filming directors to create campaigns for clients.
What got me into photography?
I have always been interested in beautiful things. My first camera is my dad's Nikon F4 when I was in high school. Ever since I like to look at different camera specifications and experience different photo styles with different cameras. I felt in love with creating images using light and started to see things differently. I have never enjoyed any other media as much as I do in photography and videography - it totally opened my eyes and heart. I got to realized that you don't always have to be perfect to create something beautiful. That peace of mind and joy inspired me to take it forward.
What are my favorite subjects to photograph and why?
People are definitely one of my favorite subject to shoot. I believe everyone has their own unique beauty. I use photos and videos to interpret it out. Also, it's a precious moment that you can never been able to capture it again.
